Early one morning, an older gentleman was strolling along the beach when he noticed off in the distance someone who appeared to be performing an unusual dance. As he moved closer, he saw that the beach was littered with starfish and that the "dancing figure" was actually a young woman who was bending down, picking up the starfish one by one, and throwing them back into the ocean. He watched in amazement for a few moments and then said kindly, "There are countless stranded starfish for as far as I can see along the beach. What difference can it make to save a few of them?" The young woman smiled sweetly as she once again bent down, picked up another starfish, gently tossed it back into the water, and then happily exclaimed, "It certainly made a difference to that one!"
